Sitemoth internal links and Search Console insights

Internal link suggestions

Open Analyze, Internal link suggestions. Sitemoth reads the text of every indexable page and finds pages that need links: orphans, pages with 2 or fewer internal links pointing at them, and pages ranking 8 to 20 when Search Console data is pulled. For each one it suggests up to 5 related pages to link from. Where the anchor already appears in the linking page's text, Sitemoth shows the sentence so the link can go right there.

Sitemoth computes the text similarity on your computer with no model download, and no page text leaves your machine. A crawl of 1,000 pages takes about a second.

Topic clusters

Sitemoth groups pages into topics, names each topic by its key phrases and picks a hub: the page with the most internal links. It flags topic pages that do not link to their hub and hubs that do not link back. Analyze, Topic clusters draws the map, with hubs drawn larger.

Search Console insights

When you pull Search Console data, Sitemoth also pulls the previous period of the same length and fills the Search opportunities tab:

  • Sitemoth finds queries where several of your pages split the impressions, and suggests the page to keep. Brand queries are left out.
  • Sitemoth flags pages that lost 30% or more of their clicks, with at least 20 clicks before, or dropped 3 or more positions.
  • Sitemoth lists pages at positions 8 to 20 in an order of work, scored by the clicks they could gain at position 3, with their technical problems next to them.
