Sitemoth recrawls a site on a schedule, compares the new crawl with the last one and sends an alert when something important changed. The crawl runs on your computer, like every Sitemoth crawl.
Sitemoth runs monitors hourly, daily or weekly while the app is open. Turn on background mode and Sitemoth registers the monitor with your system scheduler (launchd on macOS, a systemd user timer on Linux, Task Scheduler on Windows), so it also runs when the app is closed. The computer has to be on. Sitemoth keeps the last crawls of each monitor so you can open and compare them.
Setup steps are in the monitoring guide.
Cloud monitoring will check your key pages from Sitemoth's servers, so alerts keep coming when your computer is off. It will be a paid add-on to the free desktop app. Your full crawls will keep running on your computer.
